RxSolo pays homage to Skate 3 in a snappy new video for “Miracle Whip”

No one does bedroom-produced hip-hop minimalism quite like Cape Town’s best kept secret – RxSolo. A self-taught jack of all trades when it comes to his field – he writes, records, mixes, masters, and produces everything he makes himself – he’s also made a name for himself with the boundless creativity of his accompanying music videos.

This time around, with “Miracle Whip”, it’s an homage to the PS3 game Skate 3. RxSolo flexes his effortless creativity license with a live action recreation of the game itself. He takes the role of Coach Dank, who trains yuppies in the infamous DIY skate bowl in Rondebosch’s Keurboom Park.

Beneath the skate-centric exterior, the track itself is a quintessentially minimalist rap bop. It’s his third single of 2022 so far and he’s firing through the year, really. Under the sleek snare and driving beat it’s a song about his achievements and aspirations – while touching on the skater theme in keeping things on brand. RxSolo, at this point, is almost a brand himself.
