Watch Joseph Quinn jam with Metallica backstage at Lollapalooza

Since the release of Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 2, all people can seem to talk about is Joseph Quinn (the actor who plays Eddie Munson) and his iconic scene jamming Metallica’s “Master of Puppets” in the Upside Down.

Metallica has praised Quinn for doing the song justice and even paid tribute to Eddie Munson during their Lollapalooza 2022 set by projecting the iconic scene on the big screen during their performance of the 1986 song.

But that’s not all – before their set the band met and jammed with Quinn backstage with both parties gushing over their respective admiration for each other. Quinn even had the honour of playing through the song on one of James Hetfield’s personal guitars with drummer Lars Ulrich saying after the jam session, “Metallica is now a five-piece.”

The rockers also gifted Quinn with a signed custom B.C. Rich guitar, similar to the one Eddie plays in Stranger Things, and the smarty pants at Netflix were sure to post the wholesome moment in its entirety on Instagram.

Seems like it’s not only Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill (A Deal with God)” that received a great boost from the series. Since the placement of “Master of Puppets” in the series, the song has seen a surge in streams resulting in it cracking the Billboard Hot 100 and UK Top 100 Singles Chart for the first time ever. Those Duffer Brothers sure are masters of their own craft.
