Apple Music’s Home Session today announced that South African indie-pop singer-songwriter, Will Linley will release his own stripped-down Home Session. The EP features reimagined signature songs and thoughtful covers.
“It was really special to re-imagine these tracks as stripped-back versions because you really get to the bones of the song, you go back to the way it was written,” Will tells Apple Music. “It feels a bit nostalgic to me, it takes me straight back to the room it was first created in and that alone is an incredibly special feeling.”
The Home Session EP, available to stream on Apple Music in Spatial Audio, features three exclusive unplugged tracks from the singer, “Tough” (2023) and “Last Call” (2022), that have quickly become fan favourites, as well as a cover of the soul-pop classic “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You”, originally released by Franki Valli in 1967.
“So ‘Tough’ and ‘Last Call’ are probably my favourite songs I’ve done to date, and I always love reimagining songs in an acoustic style! And then the third song “Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You” is just my go to cover every single time! It’s a classic! The chords, the structure, it’s so unique, no one has done anything close to something like it since!” he says.
“Since I originally released these songs, I think I’ve evolved because I’ve learnt that it’s okay to push the boundaries a little bit! Don’t just stick in your lane, and you’ll see that from me with the music I’ll be releasing next!”
