On 12 March 2024, In the City festival announced that their upcoming shows would have not one, but two international artists co-headline. Steyn Entertainment has officially confirmed that the first Headliner is singer, songwriter, producer and instrumentalist – Mereba.
Her unique blend of genres, makes for an alternative take on pop, soul, and folk music, made from a modern state of mind. As an artist, she blossomed in Atlanta, Georgia as an honorary member of Spillage Village, alongside frequent collaborators J.I.D., 6lack, and Earthgang. She dropped her debut album, The Jungle is the Only Way Out in 2019, and the AZEB EP shortly thereafter. Mereba is known for hits like “Sandstorm” featuring J.I.D, and “Rider”.
The American star is set to co-headline ‘In The City’ on 3 May 2024, Old Biscuit Mill in Cape Town, and on 4 May 2024, Constitution Hill, Johannesburg. Keep an eye out for their second International Headliner to be announced soon, in conjuncture with a supporting line up of local artists and DJs.
