Pixie Whip, MOONGA. K and Hanna have joined forces for a collaborative track titled “Loose Screws” and it’s an anthem for youthful liberation.
The studio process started with the idea of making something together, but they weren’t sure what exactly, which was perhaps the best way to begin. Cooped up in Pixie’s home studio, their shared excitement was channeled into something undeniably special.
I think maybe my favourite thing about this track is how seamless it sounds. Pixie, MOONGA, Hanna; they all approach writing in very different ways, and stylistically they’re all poles apart. Yet, somehow, they find perfect synchronicity on this R&B-infused synth-pop single.
With melancholic undertones, there’s this nostalgic quality that reminds me of old UK garage tracks, like something from Sweet Female Attitude or Dizzee Rascal. It’s a pleasant surprise, and a testament to what can happen when three artists embrace uncertainty.
With the addition of MOONGA’s soulful harmonies and Hanna’s frank lyricism, these three deliver a serendipitous ode to creative freedom, and to new friendship.
