Majozi’s latest music video for “Time Traveller” is a four-minute green-screen experiment, filled with digital wonder that’s beyond measure.
It’s the sixth track off A Great Exchange, and my personal favourite off the diverse seven-track album.
When speaking about the synth-pop track, Majozi says: “I guess we all wish we could turn back time and change some things we said or did, and that’s little bit of what this song is about. Wishing we could take more control and erase the pain of the past for a better future.”
The video, directed by old friend and collaborator Michael Robertson from Toon 53 Productions,
taps into a vivid feeling of nostalgia. It’s the kind of visual that would fit seamlessly in an ’80s tribute category, and that’s why we love it.
The sound plays well with the lyrics too, even if you don’t quite understand the lines “I’ll be your Marty McFly / I’ll be your time traveller’s wife”. Still a bop, that’s for sure.
