Meet Amongst The People I Know, the experimental jazz project of Tebogo J Mosane, a drummer and producer from Garankuwa, Pretoria.
As the driving force behind this project, he produces, records and performs all of his own music, taking audiences on a journey through a unique blend of experimental soul.
In addition to his solo work, Amongst The People I Know is also a member of the Roots Electro band Johnny Cradle, alongside Q and Laz. Together, they have captivated audiences with their fusion of rock, hip hop, and soul, earning a loyal following in the South African music scene, having played stages like Rocking The Daisies, Afropunk, Oppikoppi and Basha Uhuru.
He recently made his live debut at Kids Love Jazz, in collaboration with NarowBi, marking the duo’s first musical partnership on stage. Joined by S Que on keys, Crunchy Sweater on bass, Kekeletso Masemola
on trumpet and Toroh O Wano on saxophone, it was a magical introduction to his introspective and sensitive sound, with colourful interludes and playful moments of daring experimentation.
