Rewind make a youthful debut with “Never Enough”

Meet Rewind, a rising pop-rock group from Cape Town, whose debut single and video “Never Enough” marks the band’s first venture into original music after years of honing their craft through the art of cover performances.

Recorded and produced at Signal Flow Studios by Alan Simmonds, “Never Enough” is a powerful anthem that explores themes of heartbreak, longing, and nostalgia. With infectious melodies and introspective lyrics, Rewind’s debut is poised to resonate with listeners who have experienced the tension between holding onto cherished memories and finding the strength to move forward.

Commenting on the emotional depth of the song, the band say, “It’s a deeply personal reflection on our struggles with heartbreak and longing, aimed at inspiring healing and self-discovery in listeners. Through writing this song, we came to appreciate the value of vulnerability and honesty, drawing on our own experiences to craft resonant lyrics.”

Formed in 2022 by four friends – Jordan, Aiden, Davin, and John – Rewind originated at Edgemead High School, where their shared love of rock led them to revive classics with a fresh, modern twist. Their unique approach to music quickly attracted attention, but the turning point for the band came in 2023 when they won the Battle of the Bands at Quay 4 in Cape Town. This victory solidified their potential as musicians and fuelled their transition from cover performances to creating original material.

In 2024, Rewind welcomed their newest member, Simon Jasper, who brought a fresh sound to their evolving style. Together, the band has crafted a signature pop-rock sound that blends modern rock and pop influences with a distinct voice. Their music is driven by dynamic energy, heartfelt lyrics, and a commitment to creating songs that resonate personally with their audience.
