Francois van Coke & Vriende 2025, South Africa’s biggest arena rock show, is back at SunBet Arena, Times Square in Pretoria for its sixth edition on Friday the 3rd of October, and we’re already frothing for this one.
“Since the first show in 2018, you—the fans—have shown up to make this massive arena rock show a reality,” says Francois van Coke. “This is something that we’ve created together. For us and our friends. Thank you.”
Hunter Kennedy also adds his two-cents, saying, “It’s just a lekker jol. It’s like having a mullet in the front AND in the back!”
Featuring on the line-up this year will be Afrikaans indie stalwarts Spoegwolf, who will continue the now yearly tradition of inviting all the collaborating artists on stage for the “Dagdrome in Suburbia” finale–something way too special to miss.
The Prince of Pretoria—Zaan Sonnekus—and Van Pletzen will also make a welcome return to the world-class production. Francois’ collab with Van Pletzen, aptly titled “Kakmal” sounds even more epic when performed live, and is “the closest thing to ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ we’ve ever made,” according to Peach van Pletzen.
Other performers will include Karen Zoid, Jack Parow, Fokofpolisiekar, Die Heuwels Fantasties, Tasché and Hunter Kennedy (who plans to debut a brand-new English solo song on the night…eek!)
There will also be two newcomers to the line-up. Folk-crooner Booshle G and Ryno Velvet, who will perform “Aande” alongside Francois van Coke (which happens to be the biggest hit from his latest album, Die Ruimte).
This night is about more than just music. It’s a celebration of community, of collaboration, of friendship, and you’d be crazy to miss out on something so special.
