Shaun Stylist taps Kabza De Small for new single “Yiyo”

Shaun Stylist’s ascent in the amapiano landscape has been nothing short of incredible. From his breakout hit “Nothando” — which quickly racked up over 1.3 million streams across streaming platforms — to the infectious “Manje Monday” — which topped with 2.1 million streams — each release has impressively and purposefully expanded his sonic footprint within the genre.

Hailing from East Johannesburg, the multi-faceted creative now returns with his second studio EP Maison — a deeply personal and rhythmically rich body of work.

Stylist has also teamed up with genre pioneer Kabza De Small for the project’s lead single Yiyo and it sets the tone for what follows, as a hypnotic, groove-laden anthem.

“This EP means everything to me,” says Stylist. “It’s named after my son, Maison, and it reflects where I am in life as a father, a producer, and a student of the amapiano movement. I’ve poured my heart into this, and having a legend like Kabza Da Small on board makes it that much more special.”

Other collaborators include Mkeyz, KyD, ChillyboyRSA and Sponge 101, offering a deeply dynamic listening experience.

Dance-floor power meets eccentric production on “Themb’itshe” (feat. Mkeyz & KyD) while tracks like “New Chapter” (feat. Djy Vino) and “Move” (feat. El-Kay MusiQ) are intrepid variations on the classic amapiano rhythm.

Simple and refined, Shaun Stylist offers a cohesive seven-track offering here, and the result is both bold and poised.
