Yndian Mynah celebrate 10-year-anniversary with upcoming three-date tour

It’s crazy to think that our favourite psych boys have been in the game for ten years already! Yndian Mynah are unlike any other post-rock band in Cape Town, or South Africa for that matter.

Their nostalgic shoegaze sound is coloured by what feels like a world of sonic textures. All of their songs have an incredibly well-formed structure—the perfect rise and fall; the perfect progression of chords and melodies.

And what sets them apart even more from their peers is their quiet dedication to their craft. From their debut album Velvet Youth — an intricate composition of chaos — to their latest single “Wilson“, they reimagine themselves in bold ways with every step forward, always seeking something new, something original. And through it all, they retain their deeply melancholic, deeply profound musical core.

To celebrate this milestone in their career, the boys are going on a three-date tour of Gauteng starting this Friday 30 May at Sowaar Bar in Pretoria, alongside Club Valley and Pussy Heaven.

Saturday 31 May sees them move to Sowaar Bar in the East Rand, alongside Dynasty House and The Klubs, finishing off in Soweto on Sunday 1 June for Soweto Punk at Native Rebels, alongside Decay, _Underscore, Aura Electric and Twee Punt Plug.
