Still spinning from our exclusive first taste of Breach at last week’s listening party, Twenty One Pilots’ highly anticipated new album has officially landed, and we’re here to tell you that it’s 100% worth the wait.
The duo wasted no time cranking up the spectacle, pairing the release with a nearly 10-minute epic short film for opening track City Walls (which they dropped in the middle of our listening party). Directed by Jensen Noen, the video picks up where the video for Paladin Strait left off and brings the decade-long saga to a roaring close with a battle sequence that feels more blockbuster than music video. World building? We love to see it!
Breach comes armed with firepower. The Contract became the biggest debut of the band’s career, while Drum Show stormed out the gate as BBC Radio 1’s Hottest Record. The album proves why Twenty One Pilots have remained in their own league: cinematic storytellers with an arena-ready sound that bends genres and still lands on the heart. If Blurryface sparked the mythology, Breach slams the final chapter shut with style.
The next step, surely, is a long-overdue tour of South Africa? A girl can dream.
