Johannesburg’s favourite new live music series, Things We Love, is back this Friday, 5 September at Sognage. With the city already buzzing, anticipation for the show is at fever pitch. There’s no better time for them to up the stakes by revealing rapper Blxckie as part of their already impressive line-up. Fresh from bagging two SAMA31 nominations, including Best Hip Hop Album, you can expect Blxckie to deliver a full-blown hip-hop spectacle.
Joining Blxckie at Sognage is a roster of some of South Africa’s most exciting acts shaping the direction of our current music scene. Internet Girl will bring their genre-defying blend of punk, indie rock, and experimental hip-hop, a chaotic cocktail that’s earned them cult status across the alt scene both at home and abroad. Mars Baby, the multi-instrumentalist and producer behind some of the smoothest R&B and alt-pop to hit local stages in recent years, is also set to perform.
Beyond the music, Things We Love promises a full-bodied, immersive experience with bespoke lighting, live energy, and a crowd that’s there for unfiltered connection.
