Jazz Icon Gregory Porter Returns To South Africa This November

Two-time GRAMMY winner Gregory Porter is returning to South Africa this November for a three-city arena tour that promises to be a monumental run for the jazz singer. Presented by Showtime Management and GRIZA Enterprises, the “Love is King SA 2025 Tour” kicks off at Cape Town’s GrandWest on 12 November, stops at Johannesburg’s DP World Wanderers on 15 November, and closes at Durban’s ICC on 19 November.

South African audiences have a long-standing love affair with Porter, who first graced the country’s stages at Joy of Jazz in 2014 and 2015, and later sold out his solo tour in 2023 within days of ticket release. With his unmistakable baritone, iconic flat cap, and a repertoire that bridges jazz, soul, gospel, and blues, Porter has carved out a reputation as one of contemporary jazz’s most compelling voices. His music, often compared to the timeless stylings of Nat King Cole and Donny Hathaway, brings with it both critical acclaim and a deeply devoted fanbase across the globe.

“For me, music has always been about coming with a humble and honest expression about love and life. South Africa, I’m humbled by your exuberant radiant love.” Porter said on X. “Two years later, I return with my ‘King of Love’ SA tour — a continued celebration of the incredible people of this nation.”

Fans can expect a powerful mix of soaring classics and heartfelt storytelling, delivered with the warmth and soul that have made Porter a modern jazz icon.

Tickets are on sale now via Showtime and Ticketmaster, and if history is any indication, they won’t be available for long. Grab them here.
