PinkPantheress is celebrating one year of Fancy That by giving the girlies what they want! The producer and singer has released a music video for fan favourite track “Girl Like Me.” Directed by Lauzza, the visual opens inside a talk show hosted by British television icon Davina McCall, before slipping into the hyper-stylised, rhythm-heavy world that has become synonymous with the UK artist.
The release follows PinkPantheress’ breakout performances at Coachella, where a stacked lineup of collaborators and surprise guests underscored just how expansive her world has become. Featuring appearances from artists including Thundercat, Janelle Monáe, Zara Larsson and horsegiirL, the sets signalled an artist operating far beyond the bedroom-pop framework she first emerged from.
Released in May last year, Fancy That has since become PinkPantheress’ third project to surpass one billion (sjoe) Spotify streams. The mixtape was created alongside collaborators including The Dare, Oscar Scheller and aksel arvid, further expanding her blend of UK garage, alt-pop and club music into something increasingly global in scale.
