The biggest night in Afrikaans alternative and rock music is heading back to Pretoria. Francois van Coke has officially announced the return of Francois van Coke & Vriende, with the annual arena spectacular set to take over the SunBet Arena at Time Square on 9 October 2026.
Since launching in 2018, Francois van Coke & Vriende has become one of S.A’s most successful live music events, bringing together some of the biggest names in Afrikaans rock and alternative music for a one-night-only celebration.
This year’s lineup features Spoegwolf, Karen Zoid, Jack Parow, Robbie Wessels, Fokofpolisiekar, Early B, Die Heuwels Fantasties, Zaan Sonnekus, Neon Dreams, Van Pletzen, Tasché, and Hunter Kennedy. For the first time, Robbie Wessels will join the production to perform the rugby anthem “Bokbefok” alongside Van Coke.
“What makes this concert special is that I’ve written and released music with every artist on the lineup,” says Van Coke. “There will definitely be a few new songs, but the set will be packed with hits from your favourite Afrikaans alternative artists.” He also teased performances of recent material, including “Nagmerries” and the new collaboration “Dood” with Tasché and Zaan Sonnekus.
“We’re going to make the 2026 edition of Francois van Coke & Vriende something incredible,” he adds. “It will be a night we’ll never forget.” Based on this lineup, we believe him.
