The Tazers are hitting the road in September, and they won’t be doing it alone. The Jozi band will be joined by Dutch fuzz-punk outfit Wasted Youth Club, with the two headlining acts backed by a support line-up of some of South Africa’s best for six shows across the Western Cape and Gauteng.
Wasted Youth Club brings a mix of fuzzy garage rock and punk to local audiences — think Fidlar, Wine Lips and Oh Sees. The band released recently released an EP titled Shared Whining, and fans can expect to hear tracks from it live. The also recently released “Pink Sludge,” the first single from their upcoming album Frantic Living, due this October.
At the centre of the tour is Boogy Central’s That 70s Fest, taking place in two cities. The first stop is at Daisy Jones in Stellenbosch on September 4, with a lineup featuring Desmond and the Tutus, Die Baar and Moskitos. The second is at Sognage in Johannesburg on September 11, with Hellcats and Drunk Wizard.
