International rock icon Jack White is set to bring his electrifying live show to South Africa for two exclusive performances in Johannesburg and Cape Town this December. Presented by BreakOut Events, the Grammy Award-winning musician, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist will perform at Johannesburg’s Old Park Station on Friday, 11 December, before heading to Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens in Cape Town on Monday, 14 December.
With a career spanning more than two decades, White is one of the most recognisable names in rock music, from The White Stripes and The Raconteurs to The Dead Weather and his acclaimed solo work. His seventh studio album, Frozen Charlotte, was released this past July and continues White’s distinctive mix of blues, garage rock, punk, folk and experimental influences. The album was recorded at White’s Third Man Studio in Nashville with the band he toured his previous album, No Name, with. It features 13 tracks including “Derecho Demonico” and “G.O.D. And The Broken Ribs”
The South African dates will offer fans the chance to experience White’s celebrated live shows, which have received universal acclaim for their spontaneity, intensity, and musicianship. His sets draw from across his solo catalogue and work with his former bands. Fans can also expect to hear material from Frozen Charlotte.
