TATC was started by journalist Tecla “Texx” Ciolfi. Texx has been apart of the music industry in South Africa for the last 15 years in various capacities, namely journalism, podcasting, eventing & artist management. TATC has expanded over the last decade to become a home for creatives who are passionate about telling the rich story of the SA music industry.

Like the six queer South African Indian artists that make up the @kutticollective, their party Karou is “for the diaspora, by the diaspora,“ - an assertion of cultural agency in a landscape that often rewards assimilation. The upcoming edition pushes the concept further, collaborating with @rombo_bynotsad, a food brand remixing the sort of classic South African Indian delicacies you’d find at your grandmother’s house.Happening at @the_electric_sa in Cape Town on June 6, Karou x ROMBO positions the kitchen on the dance floor, exploring the cultural intersections between food and music. TATC was fortunate enough to publish the first feature about @paintedflowersmusic. Back then, they were still introducing themselves to the world through the dusty Americana of Walk It Loose, a debut EP that seemed to arrive from another time entirely.Six years later, it feels fitting that we should also write one of the last. Painted Flowers are over. Stepping back into whatever portal they came from. But blessing with two final tracks before they do.We pay our respects at the link in bio 🔗
