Cape Town is the proud home of the new Academy Of Sound Engineering (ASE). The Johannesburg branch has been operating for many years out of Auckland Park and it’s alumni includes SA stars AKA and DJ Cleo.
ASE now has facilities in Cape Town too and is offering and Open Day for prospective students on 21 November 2015. ASE in Cape Town is run by Keith Farquarson (Freshlyground) and Peter Pearlson (U2, Hugh Masekela) These top-level engineers will be hands on with potential students.
The ASE is based in what used to be Cape Town Sound studios. Previously owned by Tully McCully from McCully Workshop, this state of the art recording studio in Woodstock is a dream come true for aspirant sound engineers. Interested parties attending the Open Day on 21 Nov could find themselves in a hands-on recording session a week later with Freshlyground!
