Perhaps the most anticipated Oscars monologue of the last 20 years, comedian Chris Rock did not disappoint with his hysterical, hard-hitting speech.
Immediately welcoming everyone to “The White People’s Choice Awards”, Chris Rock’s monologue went on the address the issues of race and #OscarsSoWhite which dominated this year’s headlines in the run-up to the ceremony. “This year the In Memorium Package is just going to be black people that were shot on their way to the movies,” he said to scattered applause and woo hoos.
He also called out those who decided to boycott the ceremony this year saying, “Jada boycotting the Oscars is like me boycotting Rihanna’s panties. You weren’t invited!”
