Indie rockers Boxer released their eponymous EP this April, and with the help of cinematographer Thomas James Revington and director Fausto Becatti, the band has now released a fabulously comical, Borat moustache-filled video for their first single, ‘R2-D2’. “We were super lucky to be able to work with these guys, the project was so much fun and in the end there’s just so much talent to feed off [of],” the band said.
The track is catchy and has all the makings of an earworm, and while the video seemingly doesn’t have any connection to the actual character of R2-D2 (although you might catch some “Star Wars” references if you’re sharp), it doesn’t really matter, since its quirky, fun atmosphere will mesmerise you anyway.
The band is releasing this video in conjunction with their coastal tour, a supporting performance for Fokofpolisiekar, their set at Oppikoppi and their own event which will feature Go Barefoot, The Sisters and, according to the band, “…a very well established surprise act.” Watch the video below.
