Truth Decayed get straight to the point in their debut EP Modern Day Illusion

Truth Decayed’s debut EP Modern Day Illusion is a call-to-arms that packs a surprisingly powerful punch.

Hailing from Durban the new kids in thrash-ville have hit the ground running, snagging an African Metal Week Award from BurgStudio Radio and getting airplay on international radio stations for their debut single – all before the EP’s release.

Sure, Modern Day Illusion might only be two tracks long but that’s all Truth Decayed need to make an impression. Rather than focus on speed, they slow things down just enough to give the compositions complexity and weight.

The more moderate tempo allows the music to express itself, as frontman Ryno Theron rages at the world and begs for a social revolution. Crunching riffs combine with adventurous lead-guitar runs, all led by Brandon Carey’s furious drumming, to paint a terrifying picture of our world. Truth Decayed don’t need more than two tracks to prove that they mean business. Modern Day Illusion is an EP crafted by maturity and promises to be the beginning of something exciting.
