Taylor Hawkins, drummer of the greatest rock bands to ever exist, Foo Fighters, died on Friday in Bogota, Colombia after his body was discovered in his hotel room.
“The Foo Fighters family is devastated by the tragic and untimely loss of our beloved Taylor Hawkins,” the band said in a statement released on social media.
“His musical spirit and infectious laughter will live on with all of us forever. Our hearts go out to his wife, children, and family, and we ask that their privacy be treated with the utmost respect in this unimaginably difficult time.”
Foo Fighters were due to play Festival Estéreo in Colombia and in lieu of the performance, candles were placed on stage to honour Hawkins.
