Nic Jeffrey steps up his visual output with an artfully executed video for latest single “You’ve Got Me (& I’ve Got You)”

Over the past year, pop newcomer Nic Jeffrey has released a string of singles accompanied by videos, each more artfully executed than the last, and his latest visual offering “You’ve Got Me (& I’ve Got You)” is by far his best yet.

He describes it as his first “big-budget” video, or at least as big-budget as a young, independent artist can afford – filmed on location between a desolate quarry and a sprawling lake.

The track speaks to Jeffrey’s struggles with failure and self-doubt over the course of his career, an idea visually embodied by shots of him tied to a chair, struggling to escape. But he seems to find support in the relationships he’s fostered, singing, “Way back in high school, I never felt cool / Now I’m ok that you’re by my side / You’ve got me and I’ve got you”.

Directed by Kyle Sloan, Jeffrey seems to have entered a new league of visual output, and while he still has a long way to go, seeing how far he’s come in such a short space of time is encouraging.

With three No.1 singles on 5FM’s National Indie Chart, multiple TV appearances and a spot on Spotify’s international ‘Fresh Finds Pop’ playlist, his latest single is further proof of his unfaltering dedication to doing what he loves.
