Thapelo and Gino Lee’s collaboration single “Caught Up” is a reminder to put yourself first

Shedding light on the fact that the emotional nuances of relationships remain the same across the board – from hetrosexual to LGBTQIA+ – Thapelo and Gino Lee recently joined forces for a searing ode to queer heartbreak and it just got a visual treatment.

“Caught Up” was penned as a catharsis for R&B newcomer Thapelo to navigate the end of a relationship in removing himself from what became a toxic partnership. Gino Lee came on board to lend some polished vocals to the mix and the result is an infectious R&B pop anthem hinged on taking ownership of your life back into your own hands.

Through a light-washed lens, the accompanying video plays like a timelapse montage as the lovestruck relationship between two men gradually unravels into constant arguments and stony silence. Punctuating the frames of heartbreak and impending toxicity, Thapelo and Gino stroll along the Atlantic shoreline at sunset belting out the track.

It’s a refreshing commentary on the nuances of queer relationships and an infectious R&B anthem bred to drive it all home.
