Mxnic T & Talicia’s debut album Osmosis is a compilation of fresh sounds and familiar sentiments

Talicia and Mxnic T are back with a full-length album, Osmosis, bringing their eclectic influences and sounds together as they explore a blend of styles that makes for an impressive collection of songs.

The project opens with “Wind Blows”, a tune showcasing Talcia’s sultry vocals and sets the tone for the predominantly chilled listen.

Osmosis tackles a number of subjects with the primary aim of delivering honest storytelling about life. “R3d Haz3”, “Alonehill” (a cheeky play on Lonehill) and “Whispers of Serotonin” tackle mental health issues and the pursuit of peace and happiness. “Blind Desire” navigates love, while closer, “From Now On” is a confidence builder about paving your own way and trying not to succumb to pressure.

The album shows itself as an ambitious collaborative effort from the onset. All the artists involved manage to shine within its neo-soul, R&B and hip-hop parameters in one way or another. Mxnic T delivers some memorable verses while Talicia gives the best of her vocal abilities. Aspects of the production touch brilliantly on Lounge House on tracks like, “ Find My Way” and “Blind Desire”.

The meeting of different artists and producers on the album makes it a unique experience, while it transcends boundaries and brings a new perspective to South African R&B.
