The Wacken Metal Battle sub-Saharan Africa is back, and this year it’s bigger and louder.
Having now expanded beyond sub-Saharan Africa, giving even more bands the opportunity to compete for a spot on one of the world’s most prestigious stages, the showdown is already well underway, and the competition is fierce.
Bands are currently gearing up for the final on the 3rd of May at Sognage, and so far our finalists are Walk These Skies, Nine Refrain, Ill System and Hilliker from South Africa; Raven in Flesh from Botswana; Eternal Katastrophe from Angola; and As Night Fades from Namibia.
Sash Northey, organiser and founder of Emalyth Entertainment, commented, “I think it has been wonderful to see so many new bands from across the continent begin to form, as the battle provides them with a platform to showcase their talent and expand their networking opportunities.”
