Well, well, well…
Look who’s back.
South Africa’s most successful (and incestuous) musical “family” have decided to record an acoustic album, scheduled for release towards the end of April/beginning of May and then take that baby on a nationwide tour.
Also, how epic is the above photo taken by Manfred Werner? It kinda reminds me of a super screwed up family, Royal Tenenbaums’ style.
Van Coke Kartel, Fokofpolisiekar, aKING and Die Heuwels Fantasties (as if you didn’t already know) are each creating two acoustic versions of old fan favourites and will also introduce a brand new track each on the album. So it’s basically going to be one giant jam.
Tracks that the bands are recording are as follows:
- VCK: ‘Voor Ons Stof Word’, ‘Buitenkant II’ and new track ‘Almal Is Bang’.
- FOKOFPOLISIEKAR: ‘Vasbeslote Korporasie Deel’, new track ‘Dagdronk’ and a mystery track. I hate surprises but in this case I’ll make an exception.
- aKING: ‘Facebrick Constellations’, ‘In The Twilight’ and new track ‘Dead End Ave.’
- DIE HEUWELS FANTASTIES: ‘In en Uit’, ‘Nare Kaskenades’ and new track ‘Tyd’ (working title).
When I went to the first Vanfokkingtasties gig in Stellenbosch a few years ago, I got Swine Flu. True story. Do you think this’ll stop me from going to the gig posted below? Probably not. You all know my very blatant love for all things that have to do with King Kennedy.
What do you think? Excited?
