A festival fresh on the block, Llamaland is due to kick off just a week from now. Located in Pringle Bay, just a stone’s throw from the Mother City, the event is an amalgamation of music, poetry, art and sustainable activities. An intimate space where people can play, sing , dance and listen together as friends and family.
With the central core of the festival being to create a conscious event supporting a sustainable cause, Llamaland aims to put forth a platform where humans of all ages, faces and places come together to simply be. As a mindful space created for a sustainable cause, all profits made from ticket sales and activities at the event will be donated. The proposed EYETHU Skate Park project, which aims to build a community skate park in Hout Bay, forms the central social focus.
Integration and diversity are also core values of the festival, with effort put into getting a true mix of South African artists on their stages. Blurring the boundaries between performer and audience through small stages, open spaces and collaboration, they mix and match fresh talented artists with more established industry players.
The line up boasts the likes of Diamond Thug, Lo-Ghost, Ben Badenhorst and Tall Thief – alongside a wealth of activities such as yoga, pop-up theater and spoken word. This is a blank canvas for the co-creators of South Africa to come together.
