Thor Rixon has been pretty busy lately. Just a month ago he had us all fooled into thinking that he’d actually scored a full-blown collab with Robbie Williams – and while his latest track “Won’t Stop Crying” doesn’t go quite as far as creating an entirely fake social media campaign, it certainly retains his wildly ambitious creative energy.
The track comes with a pretty NSFW video (directed by Rob Smith), which at this point can only be expected by Thor. He’s always been known for his left field music videos (“Fuk Bread” a favourite for sure), taking his newest offering in the direction of online heartbreaks and Tinder hook-ups.
Rixon literally cries the entire way through, on a FaceTime call with that person he just won’t stop crying for. However the main visual takes place in the background, blurred behind a hand-held iPhone that goes from restaurant to bar to club, and, inevitably, to the bedroom. It’s at this point that things get safely rowdy, as anonymous bodies roll behind Thor’s more-than-believable, teary-eyed performance.
Pair the bold, comedic visual play of “Won’t Stop Crying” with Thor’s breezy melodies and electronic undertones, and you’ve got yourself another banging single, next in line for his upcoming EP, that, after this, we seriously can’t wait for.
