Cindy-Louise’s latest single and video “Make It Out Here Alive” is a belter of a track with a touchingly personal visual

Based in the Netherlands, though hailing from SA, indie artist Cindy-Louise has a belter of a voice and she’s not afraid to use it. Similar to the crisp power of Hannah Reid (of London Grammar), Louise sings with a deep power that is unfalteringly pure, and it’s the thing that makes her music her own.

Following on from her popular Christmas single “A Different Little Christmas”, her latest offering “Make It Out Here Alive” centres her vocal prowess in all the right ways, taking the shape of a rock-inspired ballad that ponders the fine balance between surviving day to day life and being driven over the edge.

The track is taken from Louise’s upcoming album Humanity, set for release in March this year, and is accompanied by a colourful music video directed by Zowik Abramov. It’s a touchingly personal visual too, picturing Cindy-Louise in a school classroom, sat at a desk, commenting on her own school journey: a formative period of her life in which she found it hard to accept herself.

Yet as Louise roars herself through “Make It Out Here Alive”, with subtle sensitivity, it’s clear to see that she’s finally found the freedom to make it out alive of anything, her music being the thing that carries her out.
