The Tazers fulfill the prophecy of their name with an electrifying EP, Dream Machine

It’s Friday, and The Tazers have just released their latest EP to send us straight into the weekend. Dream Machine is a 4-track compilation embracing some back-in-the-day Tazers magic recorded with a refreshed, refined yet raw energy.

It kicks off with the title track. Drawing us into psychedelic stoner haze, the overdrive guitar-driven riffs deliver an easy listening, melodious hook before delving into a heavy thrumming bridge.

It braces us for “Go Away”, a fast and dirty explosion of in-your-face rhythms, snappy vocals, and fire guitar solos. Maintaining the energy, we’re herded into “Lonely Road” for some 70’s hard-rockin’- howling vocals are sparse creating room for galloping guitar and a fierce drum solo.

“Around Town” opens with a rapid riff before settling in with a groovy bassline and picking it back up again. After the bridge the tune changes pace into a stoner reverb-and-phaser wooze, laced with vocal harmonies, ending off with a rather tasty heavy instrumental jam. Talk about a musical journey.

Short and sweet, Dream Machine exemplifies The Tazers resolution to perfect their sound. It’s all high-energy fuzz, tumbling drum fills, reverb vocal harmonies, and heavy riffs. It certainly makes us yearn for headbanging boogie on the old dancefloor.
