Nuns Or Ninjas: All Of Me

Capetonian foursome Nuns Or Ninjas have a quirky edge that, upon further inspection, will spark a renewed interest if at first you weren’t too convinced. Their latest single artwork for ‘All of Me’, is gritty, graffitied and dripping down the page – while their band stamp is a big-busted blond who reeks of badass-ery – and if you’re looking for a party which harks nostalgically back to your teens, look no further.

A muffled guitar riff opens the track and within seconds you know what you’re in for: a catapulting return to bedroom dance-offs to Fall Out Boy and Simple Plan in 2009. With effortless grace Nuns or Ninjas have you wrapped around their finger by the chorus – and despite their quintessential sound, which you can’t help but feel you’ve heard all too often before, it isn’t difficult slip into the groove. Lyrically the track slots in neatly with the sound they’ve chosen: simplistic, cliché even, but so damn catchy.
