Watch Dave Grohl perform “Smells Like Teen Spirit” at his book event of new memoir The Storyteller

For those of you who might not know, Dave Grohl released his new memoir The Storyteller last week and at his stop in New York (as part of his book tour), he got behind a drum kit and performed Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit”.

Imagine just going to hear the Foo Fighters frontman share some of his life adventures live and in person and then getting a free performance as well.

The track is from Nirvana’s second album Nevermind which celebrated its 30th-anniversary last month.

Besides this monumental moment of Grohl performing his previous band’s iconic song, he also performed acoustic versions of “This Is A Call”, “My Hero”, “Learn To Fly”, “Best Of You” and “Everlong”.

“From his formative years on the DC punk rock scene through the decades of music that followed, Dave will share the experiences that have defined him – plus some special surprises – all 100% live and in-person in four select cities,” a press release for his book tour stated.

There are only two more events lined up (both obviously sold out) before Grohl and the rest of the Foo Fighters gang prep for their Rock n Roll Hall Of Fame induction on October 30th.
