If you don’t sing along to today’s theme tune, then your family either didn’t own a TV or let you watch TV as a kid. I weep for you.
Now I’m not sure exactly what it was that made me love this show so much. It might’ve been the Gummi Berry Juice. It might’ve been the fact that all those bears were so goddam adorable – Gruffi included – but it formed an integral part of my childhood. This I cannot deny.
I was quite surprised to learn that “Disney’s Adventures of the Gummi Bears” (this is its official title) aired in 1985 and only ended in 1991. Pretty impressive run for a cartoon program if you ask me.
