It’s our first Writer’s Picks playlist of the year!
This February we’re featuring our fav Grammy Award-winning South African, amapiano’s shining star, Tyla, with her new single “Truth or Dare”.
blaqkongo takes the second spot with “The Line” – a percussive, bass-heavy ode to the groove featuring Mr. Blasé .
Thor Rixon comes in third with similar electronic prowess on “Minertia”, taken from his new Halation EP also featuring blaqkongo.
They’re followed by the stunning shoegaze rock of Sueños (with “Sonics Seas”), the old-school grunge of Cistamatic (“Over Over”), Elle E’s sultry synth single “More Than Friends” and the unadulterated punk power of Twenty One Children (“Ice Cube”).
We also have to mention our #SpotlightOn artist for January, Zwonaka, with his tender R&B track “i hate you but i could never hate you”.
