Hilary Duff makes her long-awaited pop comeback with new single “Mature”

Hilary Duff is back and she’s all grown up. The multi-platinum pop icon has released her first new single in a decade, and this one is for the girls. “Mature” marks a confident and self-aware return to the pop scene via Atlantic Records. Co-written by Duff, her husband and GRAMMY®-winning producer Matthew Koma (Britney Spears, Pink), and hit songwriter Madison Love (Halsey, Ava Max), the track captures Duff’s signature blend of charm, nostalgia, and emotional honesty. “‘Mature’ is a little conversation that my present self is having with my younger self,” Duff explains. “It’s a chuckle, a wink, and a sense of being grateful that we are sure footed in where we landed.”

Layered with shimmering synths and Duff’s warm, expressive vocals, “Mature” lands as both a love letter to her past and a reminder that pop doesn’t have to be complicated to hit hard. The song’s release is paired with a glossy, cinematic music video directed by Lauren Dunn (Olivia Rodrigo, Dove Cameron, Saweetie). The visual mirrors the track’s theme — part self-reflection, part rebirth — with a playful nod to the star’s evolution from Disney teen idol to fully realised womanhood.

“Mature” also sets the tone for Duff’s upcoming docuseries, which will follow her creative and personal renaissance as she records new music, rehearses for her first live shows in over a decade, and balances life as an artist and mother. Directed by Sam Wrench (Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour), the series promises an intimate portrait of Duff at her most honest and driven.
