SERVA launches as new tech platform aiming to reshape live event experiences in South Africa

A new player has entered South Africa’s live entertainment chat. New tech platform SERVA has officially launched as a solution designed to streamline how audiences interact with events. Built for use across stadiums, festivals, restaurants and venues, the platform allows users to order food, drinks and other items directly from their phones, eliminating queues and offering real-time updates on orders. The system aims to tackle one of the most persistent frustrations of live events — long waiting times — by turning transactions into a seamless, mobile-led experience.

But SERVA positions itself as more than just a convenience tool. According to CEO JR Bogopa, it’s infrastructure capable of reshaping the economics of live experiences. “We are removing friction at the point where the most money is made and replacing it with speed, intelligence and control,” says Bogopa, pointing to the platform’s potential to increase transaction volumes while improving customer experience. Backed by a specialised founding team spanning technology, product and engineering, SERVA has been developed with a focus on scalability and long-term impact across Africa’s growing entertainment and hospitality sectors.

Since launching in December 2025, the platform has already shown early traction, generating over R500,000 in gross merchandise value across its first live event deployments. As SERVA expands into more events, venues and social spaces, it enters a market where digital convenience and real-time data are becoming increasingly central to audience expectations. With ambitions to become a core layer of live event infrastructure, the platform signals a broader shift towards tech-driven experiences in Africa’s cultural economy.
