On Tuesday the supporting acts for Kings of Leon’s South African tour were announced and to say that the selection surprised a few people would be an understatement.
I’m incredibly stoked for Shadowclub, The Black Hotels and Die Heuwels Fantasties for being chosen.
However with that being said, when I was told the lineup my first reaction was – WHAT THE FUCK??
Now I’m not going into too much detail about the aforementioned bands here, because I’m busy on working on a little something else that’s more in depth. I will say this though. If there was a shortlist, which there most probably was, with a few bands for KOL to choose from, I’d love to know how they took a look at DHF and went, “Hells yes, an Afrikaans electropop band. Sign them up y’all.”
Now this might sound like sour grapes on my part, but I assure you it’s not. I usually give credit where it’s due, it’s just that I’m trying to make sense of this whole thing.
Also… Big Concerts… what the fuck?
How can you schedule Coldplay and KOL in between Rocking The Daisies? Who (unless they’re in politics or being gooied free tickets) has that kinda cash to spend on all 3? Sort your shit out. Thank you in advance.
