Yes, you read right.
Billy Talent is set to return to South Africa for two shows, a mere three years after their headline set at Oppikoppi in 2010.
I for one couldn’t be happier because I missed them the last time they were in my hood.
After the success of their previous tour to South Africa, the Canadian melodic punk rockers wanted to play at the Oppikoppi Bewilderbeast Festival but due to their touring schedule, the dates just didn’t work out. But they did band jump at the opportunity to be part of another event just shortly after.
On Friday 23 August Cape Town’s City Hall Auditorium, will be rocked like never before as the first concert of the band’s second leg tour. Additionally, fans of the band can purchase tickets to meet the band as well as limited edition tour merchandise at the concert.

To get you in the mood, check out the video below of over 100 000 fans singing along to ‘Viking Death March’, the first track released to the public from Billy Talent’s fourth album, “Dead Silence”. Those Germans at Rock Am Ring, they know how to party, and apparently so do Billy Talent fans.
And then when you’re done give “Dead Silence” a little listen courtesy of Deezer below.
See you at the concert.
