Feature

vida e caffé helped us take #BehindTheNoise from a digital space into a physical one hosting brunches in Joburg & Cape Town

In August we premiered our #BehindTheNoise feature, a concept we designed to spotlight the women who work in the music industry, but behind the scenes.

We honestly didn’t expect the feature to get the response that it did, so when vida e caffé approached us with the idea of taking #BehindTheNoise from a digital space into a physical one, we jumped at the chance.

Over the course of the last two weeks TATC hosted two brunches in Johannesburg and Cape Town, at two of vida e caffé’s flagship stores in Sandton and Cape Town’s Huguenot Chambers respectively, and invited a whole host of industry ladies.

From PR agents to record label managers to festival bookers to established brand managers, we all got to meet each other and share experiences, knowledge and contacts, something that doesn’t happen very frequently in our small industry, but should.

Oh and we ate, pretty much everything in sight, but having the chance to try new items off Vida’s new summer menu was literally the cherry on top.

We also made everyone in attendance make summer playlists for Vida (yes, you best believe I made them work) so eyes peeled for those coming to a store near you. Some are pure fire.

Post-brunches, we realised how sorely something like this is needed, without necessarily pushing the WOMAN element in everyone’s faces. It’s just a big gurl hang, you know?

Shout out to the entire team from vida e caffé and Girl About Town for making this a possibility, we really do have the best fam.

Our second #BehindTheNoise feature kicks off Monday the 25th of November.
