A lot has gone down in the blink-182 camp over the last few days, so let’s do a quick recap shall we?
Two days ago we were told that there was a single coming, a tour coming, an album coming–and holy shit–TOM DELONGE WAS COMING TOO! In a beautifully-written note to guitarist Matt Skiba on Instagram, Tom thanked Matt for keeping his seat warm while he was out chasing UFOs (I kid), and today they’ve released their first new music together in 10 years.
Mark’s battle with cancer put things into perspective for the trio, who’ve been at odds with each other since Tom left in 2015, and things seems to have now settled into a peaceful reunion, that’s sure to stir shit up over the course of the next few years.
Produced by Travis, “Edging” sees Tom take the first verse, which feels especially poetic, and if you don’t feel a pang in your heart when you hear him and Mark trading off vocally then congratulations, you’re dead inside.
Now the only question remains, who they hell’s gonna bring them to South Africa so we can make this a real world tour??
