I’ll tell you who’s scared, I am.
I’m scared of this music video and of how unbelievably retarded it is.
In the process of recording their new album with Theo Crous, Van Coke Kartel released ‘Vir Almal’ two weeks ago as a free download and it got rave reviews.
And so it should, it’s a top class tune. And then they released the music video.
Now before I go on a rant, have a little watch and make up your own mind. Maybe you’ve seen it before and maybe you think I’m ‘n bietjie mal for disliking it, but that’s the beauty of having an opinion I suppose.
Firstly, how do you go from Louis Minnaar’s gorgeous animation and general creation to strippers in a scrap yard? Props for getting almost every member of the Vanfokkingtasties clan to feature in the braai scene, just in case you’ve forgotten about the all-too-quiet and incestuous Bellville scene. More money to pay the blonde I suppose.
Luckily, because most people (myself included) have nothing but love for VCK lately, the quality of the song far outweighs the lack of anything else. What are your thoughts?
